Solar-Inc are Bpec certified Qualified Renewable Energy Intallers based in Penrith, who cover all of the Cumbria area.   

As Qualified Renewable Energy Installers we are certified to install Solar Thermal (Solar Hot Water), Photovoltaic's (PV's), Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps, Loft Insulation and Underfloor Heating.

Solar-Inc have trained to NVQ2 Plumbing and a Bpec Full Scope Part P Electrician, including  17th edition. We are also certified in Part L Energy Efficiency, Bpec Unvented Hot Water, Above Ground Sanitary Pipework and Water Regulations certified. Which will allow Solar-Inc to provide a complete service from start to finish. Solar-Inc also completed a Basic Roofing & Solar Panel Fixing Course.

As all the above are now completed and passed we now planning on becoming certified by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme. Becoming a member of the MCS will mean that Customers of ours will benefit from the new Feed In Tariff, which became effective in April 2010 for Photovoltaic’s and April 2011 for the Renewable Heat Incentive, which will cover Solar Thermal (Solar Hot Water Systems), Ground and Air Source Heat Pump. We have added a new page to our website, a site survey form. You can download the form and fill in as  much detail as you can, if you have plans/drawings they would be good too, send them to us and we can assess the potential for renewable energy.  

We also have a webstore, on this site, selling Solar products, Energy saving products and Environmental friendly products. There are more than light bulbs out there, that can be used daily within the household. We are attending most, if not all the local shows during the Summer, with a working Solar Hot Water System and a Photovoltaic System as well as all the products we will be selling on the website. So please come and see us, if we are at a show near you.  

 
We at Solar-inc have an ethos, which is to give a first class service, first class work, first class equipment - to make a profit, but, not to profiteer and to be, above all, ethical. 

For Solar Thermal Installations (solar hot Water systems), of which we prefer to fit Evacuated Tubes, which are 95% efficient, much more efficient than solar panels, we are currently fitting a German Designed, Austrian produced evacuated tube.  With prices from around £3000 for a 3 bedroomed house.

In 2008 Gas, Electricity and Oil prices increased dramatically and now in 2010 we have been told the prices are going to increase again. Do you know that about 70% of your current utility bill is due to heating your hot water?

With a solar hot water system fitted with evacuated tubes you should have all your water needs covered in the Summer months and even in Winter, yes, even with snow, you should still have water delivered at 30 to 40 degrees, which is warm enough to wash the dishes, to have a shower or bath the water will only need to be topped up so saving your boiler too. Evacuated tubes last 20 - 30 years the savings are huge and you can help to save the planet too! It really is a win win situation.

After the initial cost you will have free hot water for 20-30 years with no/little maintenance.
If every house and business had solar panels or evacuated tubes maybe we wouldn't need as many wind farms as the large utility companies are proposing, don't get me wrong the green in me likes the idea of free, environmentally friendly energy, but it is not free to us, the utility companies are still going to charge us for it.
