WELCOME TO SOLAR-INC.

We are currently Bpec certified Solar hot water installers based in Penrith, Cumbria.

We say "currently" as Sean will soon be going back to School to complete the City and Guilds Bpec Renewable Energy Course. Which will give him the title of Qualified Renewable Energy Installer. Which will include Solar Thermal, Photovoltaics and Heat Pumps. He will also be taking NVQ in Plumbing, a Full Scope Electrical Course, Unvented Hot water Course as well as a Water Regulations Course. Which will allow Solar-inc to provide a complete service from start to finish.

When all the above are completed we can then apply to be certified by the Microgeneration Certifcation Scheme.

Becoming a member of the MCS will mean that Customers of ours will benefit from the new Feed In Tariff, coming into effect in April 2010. Please see our information page for details.

We are also planning to have a webstore on this site, selling Solar products, Energy saving products and Enviromental friendly products.

There are more than light bulbs out there, that can be used daily within the household. We also plan to do the local shows during the Summer, with a working Solar Hot Water System and a Photovoltaic System as well as all the products we will be selling on the website.

We at Solar-inc have an ethos which is to give a first class service, first class work, first class equipment - to make a profit, but, not to profiteer and above all ethical.

As at the moment we can only comment on Solar hot Water systems, of which we prefer to fit Evacuated Tubes, which are 95% efficient and more much more efficient than solar panels, with  prices from around £3000 for a 3 bedroomed house, less for a Bungalow. We have fitted solar hot water systems in Penrith, Carlisle and Kendal.

In 2008 Gas, Electricity and Oil prices increased dramatically and we can only see further increases on the horizon.

Do you know that about 70% of your current utility bill is due to heating your hot water? on an average household that would be £700.00.

With a solar hot water system fitted with evacuated tubes you should have all your water needs covered in the Summer months and even in Winter, yes, even with snow, you should still deliver water at 30 to 40 degrees, which is  warm enough to wash the dishes, to have a shower or bath the water will only need to be topped up so saving your boiler too.

Evacuated tubes last 20 - 30 years the savings are huge and you can help to save the planet too! It really is a win win situation.

After the initial cost you will have free hot water for 20-30 years with no/little maintenance.

The government are implementing a reduction in council tax of upto 30% for houses with lower carbon foot prints and a reduction on stamp duty?

If every house and business had solar panels or evacuated tubes maybe we wouldn't need as many wind farms as the large utility companies are proposing, don't get me wrong the green in me likes the idea of free, enviromentally friendly energy, but it is not free to us, the utility companies are still going to charge us for it.

Our ethos is to keep the price down to make it more attractive to home owners.

To fit the best system to suit your families requirements and your home.

We are an independant company so we can source the latest solar panels, solar evacuated tubes and cylinders from many different solar manufacturers and suppliers.

At Solar-Inc we would like to see every house in the UK, but especially Cumbria, with Solar panels or evacuated tubes on, but we want you to have the right system for you and for it not to cost the earth.

We hope to help you through the maze of systems and jargon to find the best solar hot water system for you, your family and your home.
