Solar-Inc are MCS certified installers, Bpec certified Qualified Renewable Energy Intallers, specialising in Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal, based in Penrith and who cover all of the Cumbria area.   

As Qualified Renewable Energy Installers we are certified to install Solar Thermal (Solar Hot Water), Photovoltaic's (PV's). Although we specilise in Photovoltaic and Thermal we have also taken courses in Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps, Loft Insulation and Underfloor Heating.

Solar-Inc have trained to NVQ2 Plumbing level and to Bpec Full Scope Part P Electrician, including  17th edition. We are also certified in Part L Energy Efficiency, Bpec Unvented Hot Water, Above Ground Sanitary Pipework and Water Regulations certified. Which will allow Solar-Inc to provide a complete service from start to finish.

Solar-Inc are now MCS (Micro-generation Certification Scheme) accredited, which allows our customers to benefit from the generous Feed In Tariff, which became effective in April 2010 for Photovoltaic’s and July 2012 for the Renewable Heat Incentive, which will cover Solar Thermal (Solar Hot Water Systems), which, as from 1st August 2011, can  benefit from a £300.00 grant. We have added a new page to our website, a site survey form. You can download the form and fill in as  much detail as you can, if you have plans/drawings they would be good too, send them to us and we can assess the potential for renewable energy.  

We also have a webstore, currently on this site, selling Solar products, Energy saving products, Eco and Environmental friendly products. There are more than light bulbs out there, that can be used daily within the household.

We have an exhibition trailer with a small workinng solar thermal system and a photovoltaic panel on display and many items from the solar store and we are intending to visit Town/City centres including Penrith, Kendal, Carlisle and Appleby.

For Solar Thermal Installations (solar hot Water systems), of which we prefer to fit Evacuated Tubes, which are 97% efficient, much more efficient than solar thermal panels, we are currently fitting a German Designed, Austrian produced evacuated tube.  

The benefits of a Solar Photovoltaic system and the Feed in Tariff, FiT's, are huge, getting paid 43.3p for all you produce, whether you use it or not, saving money on your own useage and if you produce electricity and don't use it the energy company will pay you an additional 3.1p too. We have installed a 3Kwh Solar photovoltaic system and 12 Evacuated solar thermal system on our house, which you can read about, with results, on our "Our Solar House" page.

With a solar hot water system fitted with evacuated tubes you should have all your water needs covered in the Summer months and even in Winter, yes, even with snow, you should still have water delivered at 30 to 40 degrees, which is warm enough to wash the dishes, to have a shower or bath the hot water will only need to be topped up, so saving your boiler too. Evacuated tubes last 20 - 30 years the savings are huge and you can help to save the planet too!  and with the proposed renewable heat incentive (RHI) starting next year, you will be paid for what you produce as well. It really is a win win situation. 

We are an independent renewable energy company so we can use the latest solar photovoltaics, solar evacuated tubes, solar panels and cylinders from many different solar manufacturers and suppliers.  We are currently using some of the highest producing panels (please see our page on Photovoltaic's as NOT all panels are the same) that are available on the market (no imported rubbish allowed)
